Born and brought up in the city of Ludhiana, the Manchester of Punjab, Deep Jagdeep Singh, realized his dream of shifting his professional base to the capital city, New Delhi in the year 2008. It was not that he just casually landed there. It was sheer dedication, hard work, goal-oriented actions that helped him in reaching for new horizons.

Being successfully established as the Script Writer in the most prestigious Punjabi channel, PTC was not something that landed in his kitty. He earned this for himself. Although writing has been in his blood (he being the third generation after his grandfather and father), yet he is the first one in his family to take up writing as his profession. His grandfather, was the founder president of Punjabi Sahit Sabha, Jagraon. His father too tried his hand at writing prose and lyrics.

Deep Jagdeep Singh got his basic training in Punjabi ghazal writing from Ustaad (Late) Ulfat Bajwa Ji, a noted Punjabi ghazal writer. He also has as his backbone an experience of eight years of working in the print media in leading national dailies both in Punjabi and Hindi, like Amar Ujala, Punjab Kesri, Jag Bani and Dainik Bhaskar. At present too he is writing columns for both Punjabi and Hindi newspapers. He has to his credit publications in Ajit, Punjabi Tribune, Punjabi Jagran, Nawan Zamana, and Dainik Bhaskar.

Being a master of words, he is a good translator too. By now he has in his kitty quite a few good books including Sahir Ludhianavi-Jeevan te Ishq (translated from English to Punjabi) and Khushwant Singh’s ‘Sunset Club’ translated to Punjabi.

This go-getter contributed lyrics to the songs in one of the Punjabi films ‘Bikkar Bai Sentimental’. A song penned by him titled Paani sung by Miss Pooja and composed by music director ruled the charts for weeks and crossed the 1.5 million views mark on youtube. Further he is working with many big names of the Industry on bigger projects which are yet to release in near future.
